Why BES Digital Safety Exists
Most New Zealanders understand that online security is important, yet many people still feel unsure about where to start. Research from New Zealand's Own Your Online programme and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) shows that while Kiwis are aware of online threats, many perceive cyber security as technical and complex.

BES Digital Safety helps bridge that gap by providing practical, one-on-one support to secure your passwords, accounts and devices in a way that's simple, understandable and tailored to your needs.
Why I setup BES Digital Safety
Seeing a close relative deal with the aftermath of a digital hack showed me how stressful and isolating it can feel when your personal technology is compromised.
In busy everyday life, it is easy to put off phone updates, rely on the same password across multiple accounts, or ignore important security settings until something goes wrong. Unfortunately, this delay can create unnecessary stress, confusion, and increased vulnerability to scams or hacked accounts.
I founded BES Digital Safety to provide calm, practical support without confusing tech jargon or sales pressure. By working with you in your home and explaining everything in plain language, I help make your devices, accounts, and online habits safer and easier to manage with confidence.

About Suzie Thorp
I grew up in the Nelson–Tasman region, attending primary school in Motueka and Nelson College for Girls. After spending many years away, I returned home in 2020 with my two daughters.
My background is in online content management, working in secure digital environments and managing websites and systems. After exiting my share in a successful online company, I wanted to apply that experience to helping my local community in an area of growing importance — staying safe online.
BES Digital Safety NZ is my way of offering calm, practical support so people in our region can feel more confident and protected when using everyday devices.
